I agree with TheOni, that 28 days/ weeks later seems much more realistic with the one exception of turning in 20 seconds or less. Blood would have to travel through the body and transport the virus all the way to the brain. Also the virus would have to replicate very quickly and defend itself against immune system defenses. The time would be different depending on exposure location, rate of osmosis, and metabolism. I do think quarantine at least paid close attention to timing. I do believe that all the zombie apocalypse scare will actually wind up being an incredibly virulent form of rabies. Something to consider however, (more support for 28 days /weeks) is that rabies kills the appetite. Dogs with rabies refuse to eat. Even when they kill, they do not eat their prey. In 28 days/ weeks they did not eat, they simply ,though thoroughly, destroyed their victims. Have a great day!!!!

It was abrupt, however realistic. It's more of a survival film, as opposed to action and fighting -- you're not always going to have access to weapons or firearms. However, I agree, *something* may have been useful. A lamppost, steak knife, or fire axe would be nice. The infection in the movie produced very strong, aggressive, and pain oblivious opponents, scary indeed.

Thanks Clay -- I'm aware Quarantine was a remake of REC, and I would really like to see the original. I'm a big fan of original movies, and I love going to source material.

I'm glad I could provide this strange bit of news to you -- while my research may be on the fringe of reality and science, I enjoy brining all of my findings to the public.

Quarantine was a rip off of REC. Please observe that movie. yes, it's in Spanish, but you can read the subtitles. American cinema needs to stop ripping off the rest of the world's creativity.

Oh, and I live in New Orleans. This was not news here. I hadn't heard anything about it until today.

so, did anyone ever learn why he was in there for a finger injury? It was either that or he was mighty hungry. lets hope it was the first one. is it possible that he had cannibal tendencies?

Wow, that's incredibly creepy. I would definitely dislike random arm biting/flesh eating. Poor 67 year old gardener.
